What Do You Really Want?

“What would you like?” a bright, 20-something woman asked me from behind the bar. “You can have anything you want!”

I had just arrived at Necker Island, Sir Richard Branson’s private island retreat in the Caribbean, with 35 other successful female entrepreneurs. We were there for a once-in-a-lifetime experience of business masterminding, meaningful connections and time with Sir Richard himself. This was our chance to absorb the wisdom of an ‘anything is possible’, billion-dollar entrepreneur.

I knew it was going to be a highly expansive and totally high vibe experience. But what I didn’t expect was to go into panic mode when the woman behind the bar asked me a simple question.

“What would you like?”

You see, there were no menus, and no lists of what was possible. Just a fully stocked bar and the invitation to order whatever you want.

But what did I want?

I started going through all the cocktails I already knew… mojito, margarita, vodka soda. But these all felt like I was playing it safe – I could get these anywhere. So I racked my brain and finally came up with, “A French Martini please!”

It’s like in life. Anything is possible. You can literally have anything you want. A six-figure business. A ten-hour work week. A three-month trip to Europe. The flexibility to work from home and take care of your kids. Seriously – whatever you want.

But it all comes down to this – do you really know what you want?

When I walked up to that bar, I had no idea what I wanted. I was used to being told what I could have and then choosing from that selection. But here on Necker Island, anything was possible. I just needed to know what I wanted and then ask for it.

The Universe is like that bar. You can have anything you want, so long as you know what to ask for.

So, my invitation to you, is to ask for what you want. If you could have anything, what would it be?

Go! Fire that rocket of desire out into the Universe, take aligned action and see what transpires. For me, on that balmy evening at Necker, it was a perfectly made French Martini.

For you? Well, that’s up to you to decide.

Much Love,

Spread the love...
